Two chenin blanc impossible to beat in a price-quality ratio battle!

From the same wine group, DGB, one of the most prestigious in South Africa, I recommend these two entry level white wines, two chenin blanc of similar characteristics, but equally distinctive, that offer us all the elegance and freshness of this special grape. The chenin blanc is a very versatile variety, of great personality that can give us very fresh young wines or some more evolved, complex and elegant ones.
Having also had the opportunity to taste them in the company of JC Bekker, the group chief winemaker is also a delight and a pleasure that I treasure in my baggage of professional experiences.

Harvest after harvest for more than 70 years is one of the emblematic wines of the winery, and in particular to me, it is a wine that I love! For its price I can not ask for more. With aromas of exotic fruits, some orange, ripe peaches and honey, in the mouth always seduces me with its unctuous body, its balance of flavors and its a slightly acid but very refreshing finish.

With aromas of exotic fruits which are very characteristic of this grape variety, this chenin blanc also offers some very pleasant floral and citric notes. In the mouth, the fact of having rested in its lees during a phase of its elaboration, turns it into a very delicate and elegant wine. The small proportion of Viognier also gives a texture and a body, being a wine of great persistence in the palate. A true delight of elegance and finesse, accessible to all pockets.

Available regularly on the SAQ gondolas, these are two excellent products based on this white variety that seems to have found its best terroir in South Africa. Cheers! (MLF)

V8 +, a Prosecco with many virtues to discover!

They say that eight minutes is what it takes the sunlight to reach the Earth and the "eight" is also the number that symbolizes infinity ... now it is also the trademark of a new sparkling wine! Made 100% with the traditional Glera grape, this Prosecco DOC Brut and Millesimato is a deliciously fresh and fruity wine, with pleasant notes of green apple, pear and peach. On the palate, this young sparkling wine stands out for its slightly mineral character, not so easy to find in the more traditional Prosecco. Mountain Blend Chardonnay: Intense expression of the mountains

From argentine producer Santa Julia arrives in the Quebec market a new wine that fortunately in my opinion helps to open the door for discovering new flavors and varieties of Mendoza. The grape Chardonnay, the star of the whites in the world, also has a very special terroir in the Uco Valley. This mineral and refreshing white wine, pleasantly surprised me by its delicate aromas of apple, jasmine and peach, and a slight but consistent structure in the mouth. With only 6 months in oak barrels, the wine preserves its fruity character and some flavors that remind me of the stony and alluvial soil so characteristic of the region.
